- This Interactive Writing Strategies Notebook will serve as a practical, engaging resource that your grade 6 students will use and reference throughout the entire year. It covers ALL of your Writing Language Arts outcomes in the NEW Alberta curriculum.
Each time you teach about a new writing craft (like biography writing, essays, fictional narratives, opinion writing, etc) your students will create a mini anchor chart/poster to have as a reference the whole year through!
In this resource you will find:
- A cover page for a Language Arts Notebook
- A cover page for your Writing Notebook section,
- An ”I Can statement” for each outcome (that is aligned with the Alberta Program of Studies) to glue at the top of your notebook page,
- Images, information, etc to create each page/anchor chart, and
- Exemplar Notebook so you can see how each anchor chart is created,
- and a section with editable titles to suit your needs.
Each student will need:
- Crayons/markers/coloured pencils
- Binder/duotang depending on how you want to organize your notebook
I have found that at the end of the school year, students are proud to show their notebooks to their parents, and parents are interested in seeing all the learning that has occurred in ELA.
